Testament of Minos

Poseidon… is a bastard.

Like all the other gods he has little regard for the people he messes with in pursuit of his own amusement. So too would it be for Laura. Her mother had been cursed by Poseidon to only give birth to monsters. From a young age Laura knew she wasn’t normal, burdened by the same bestial marks and ravenous hunger for human flesh as her brother, the minotaur. Seeing a bleak future ahead of her in Minoa, king Minos beseeched Artemis for aid. With her divine blessing he sent Laura off to live with the Amazons. Perhaps there his daughter would know peace.

Hidden far from humanity’s prying eyes Laura thrived among the Amazons. They taught her how to fight, allowing her to grow up into a fierce warrior. Any intruders that stumbled upon the village would swiftly be disposed of by Laura’s belly. Together they celebrated as Laura became strong, ready to ascend to the throne when she returned back to her home.

When she made the journey back years later she arrived to find Minoa the scene of tragedy. In her absence a band of ‘heroes’ had slain her brother. Worse yet, her older sister, the only one of her siblings born a pure human, had helped them. From that day a hatred for humanity was lit with Laura.

The fire only sparked brighter when she learned of the fate that befell both her parents. The men that killed her brother had received a sign from the gods that they should die too. Minos and his wife Pasiphae died in eachother’s arms, brutally murdered by the invaders. They set the city alight, plundering it for all its worth. Laura fled into the chaos, laying low with nothing but grief left to her name.

Days later she returned, standing among the smoking ruins of her hometown. There wasn’t a soul left. Those who weren’t killed in the streets were ‘liberated’ and hauled off to lands unknown. She made her way back to what was left of the palace she grew up in. The invaders had taken almost everything. But among the remnants she found some of her father’s journals.

As she looked through what was left of Minos’ personal belongings Laura discovered that Poseidon had been behind this brazen attack. The god of the sea had once again turned his ire to her father when king Minos had made a startling discovery. Something that would send Laura down a path of destruction unlike anything the gods had witnessed before.

Out in the Aegean sea there was an island not found on any map. Panorgia was the home of Poseidon’s twisted adventures into merging human and beast together for his own lustful goals. An island he kept secret from all, man and god alike. When king Minos found it, he was horrified by what he had discovered. The last entry in his journal swore that he would find a way to destroy the island, even if it is the last thing he’ll ever do. And so Laura set off, her heart heavy with grief distilling into anger.

To complete her father’s last wish. She would sail to Panorgia and rid it off Poseidon’s foul influence.
